Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinics for Veterans
2021-2022 Flu Season
Bring your VA ID card
Flu shots are NOT available on a walk-in basis this year. Drive-through clinics are planned instead. If you have a scheduled appointment with your provider (for other VA care), you can receive a flu shot while in the clinic – at any primary care, behavioral health or specialty clinic. Appointments will not be made for flu shots alone.
Co-administration of COVID-19 vaccines with other vaccines:
The COVID-19 vaccine can now be co-administered with other vaccines. Unvaccinated Veterans wishing to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine should call our Scheduling Unit at 1-800-574-8387,
Ext. 54453 for assistance scheduling the vaccine in accordance with CDC guidelines. Veterans who wish to receive both the COVID-19 vaccine and flu vaccine on the same day should review our drive-through flu clinic dates when booking their COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

COVID-19 Precautions at Drive-Through Clinics:
- Please bring and wear a mask. If there is a medical reason you feel you cannot wear a mask, we will have face shields available.
- Social distancing of 6’ will be maintained.
- Please remain in your vehicle. Staff will come to you for the vaccine.
- To prevent the spread of COVID-19, entry to all buildings is controlled and limited only to those with scheduled appointments. Unless you have a scheduled appointment in another area of the VA, please come directly to the drive-through clinic and then leave.
- If you have suspected or confirmed COVID-19, or have had an exposure within two weeks, stay home as instructed and do not go for a flu shot to any location until released from quarantine.
- Possible symptoms include: Fever; new or worsening shortness of breath; flu-like symptoms; nausea, vomiting or diarrhea; new onset of headache; loss of taste, or loss of smell.
- If you have questions, please contact your team.
VA’s Community Care Network (CCN):
The VA no longer contracts for free flu shots at Walgreens. Enrolled Veterans can get a FREE flu shot on a walk-in basis at any retail pharmacy or urgent care clinic in the VA’s Community Care Network (CCN). Vaccine arrival dates will vary by location. Call first to confirm vaccine availability. Simply tell staff that you are an eligible Veteran who is enrolled in VA care and show your VA ID card. To locate a CCN site, use the online VA Facility Locator Tool
If You Receive a Flu Shot at Any Community Location:
Please notify your team directly or send a SECURE MESSAGE using My Health-E-Vet and leave a message which includes your name, last 4 digits of SSN, and the date and location you received the vaccine so your medical record can be updated. Bringing your vaccine information to your scheduled appointments is always appreciated so your record can be updated.
Protect yourself and others – receive your FREE yearly flu vaccine!
At your next scheduled visit, also be sure your pneumonia vaccine is up to date.
