Mental Health Clinic/Acute Psychiatry Unit

The Mental Health Clinic/Acute Psychiatry Unit delivers services to over 1,800 veterans. Veterans seeking treatment are evaluated by Mental Health Clinic personnel, after which treatment is provided. Using a primary care model, veterans are assigned to a treatment team consisting of a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, and nurse. This team follows the patient throughout the treatment process, both inpatient and outpatient. The patient population includes eligible veterans; family members are able to participate in treatment if they are worked within conjunction with the veteran.

There are currently no inpatient psychiatry services available at Leavenworth. Patients are sent to Topeka.

Mental Health Clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 8-4:30 PM
After hours call Urgent Care: 1-800-574-8387
