NAMI Family-to-Family Education Class

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is pleased to announce its Family-to-Family education program will conduct classes starting Monday, September 10, 2012, at the Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center at 6:00 p.m.

A series of 12 weekly classes structured to help caregivers understand and support individuals with serious mental illness while maintaining their own well being. The course is taught by a team of trained NAMI family member volunteers who know what it’s like to have a loved one struggling with one of these brain disorders.

There is no cost to participate in the NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program for family members, partners, and friends of individuals with PTSD, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression), Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Panic Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Co-occurring Brain Disorders and Addictive Disorders.

Classes will be every Monday for 12 weeks at 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Building 3, Colmery-O’Neil VAMC, 2200 Gage Blvd. starting Monday, September 10th.  Registration is required – please call Debbie Hedges, RN, (785) 350-3111 ext 52464
